Noah's First Day of "School"

Today was Noah's first day of "school." He is attending a church run day school that meets two days a week from 8:15-2:15. I was so proud of him for how he handled himself when dropping him off this morning! The school insists that you do not bring your child into the classroom, but rather they come to your car and unload your child for you (this works great for having David with me too!). I was extremely nervous as to how Noah would handle a complete stranger taking him out of the car and whisking him away, but he did it with such confidence! In the past, Noah has been relatively shy and hesitant to warm up to new people (once he is comfortable with you though....that is another story). But this strange woman pulled him out of the car and Noah didn't even look at me with fear....in fact, he didn't look at me at all. Instead, he pointed to the inside of the building and asked this stranger, "what's in there?" He could have cared less that I wasn't coming inside with him. I waited for him to turn his head towards me so I could at least wave at my boy who is all grown up, but he never even looked back. I, on the other hand, wiped away the tears as I pulled away and came to the realization that my son was growing up in so many ways (and in more ways than I even knew).

You will have to excuse my pictures.....in the first, the sun was in his eyes. In the second one, he was smiling so hard that he couldn't keep his eyes open :) And then, of course, the camera battery died. Oops!

My Big Boys

My big boys are growing up everyday! Noah is now 2 years 5 months and David will be 10 months on Friday! I can't believe how time has flown!

For those of you have been following the blog (when I manage to update it), you know that David has been in physical therapy, twice a week, since the end of June due to his developmental delay in gross motor development. For those of you who are new to the blog, David was evaluated when he was 7 1/2 months old and we were told that he was at the level of a 3 1/2 month old with respect to gross motor development. Through hard work and determination, I am happy to report that David is now caught up to other children his age!!! In 2 months time, David learned to roll over, sit up, push up to sitting from his stomach, crawl (military style with his tummy on the floor), and pull up to standing! He is such a happy little bug and I think he is really enjoying moving around all over the place! Although it has made my life more challenging around the house with a mobile baby, I couldn't be happier for him.

And I think that Noah is just tickled that David can get around and actually "play" with him. They just love each other sooo much!

This tough guy, whom you probably don't even recognize :), starts school tomorrow. Noah is enrolled in a day school that meets 2 days a week at a local episcopal church in town. He seems excited about school, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that he doesn't cry too much when I drop him off! As tough as he looks in this picture, Noah is a sensitive little boy who is so sweet. I hope he has fun with his new friends :)

Not only is David moving all over the place these days, but he also eats like a little pig (I can't believe he is only in the 3rd percentile for weight)! Baby food is now only for the birds at our house and David pretty much eats from the table with the rest of the family. You can't really tell in this picture, but he now has 2 teeth on the bottom. He also has given up alot of the "baby" toys and prefers to play with all of Noah's big boy toys like cars, trains, and Noah's beloved vacuum cleaner :)

My how my boys are growing up!

David 9 Months

I can't believe we have been blessed to already have had David in our lives for 9 months! We really don't even remember life without him. At 9 months old, David is still the sweetest little baby ever. He never cries (except when he wakes up, is riding in the car for several hours, and occasionally when he is going to sleep at night). He has one tooth, loves to eat REAL food (that liquid food is for the birds), babbles, and still grins at you from ear to ear if you look directly at him. He takes two solids naps a day (both about 2-2 1/2 hours) and sleeps at night from 8-6ish. He is completely enamored with his big brother, Noah, and will just watch Noah run back and forth across the room. Whenever he is sad, Noah is always right there, ready to insert a paci, bring him a toy, or sing him "Wheels on the Bus." He loves being greeted by Noah from his naps, by Noah standing on a step stool that has a permanent residence beside his crib and hearing him say, "Rise and Shine, David!"

David has been in Physical Therapy since late June to help him catch up with his gross motor development. In his short time in PT, he has been making great strides and is dangerously close to crawling! He is getting stronger and stronger everyday and somewhat frustrated as he tries to make the mind/body connection.

David is my sweet pea and my bugaboo. He is also Noah's bug a boo, according to him. We love him so.

I can no longer take a picture of just David because Noah always wants to be right there with him. So humor me with these pictures and a lack of a shirt for Noah. Some things are not worth the battle :)

Fun Times with the Nassetta's

On our road trip home from Florida, we managed to stop in Birmingham and visit with our old friends, the Nassetta's. It was a quick visit, but well worth it. David had so much fun playing with his best friend, Sam! Thank you, Sam, for sharing all your toys with us! And thank you, Pat & Lauren, for letting the whole family crash at your place! We love you and miss you!

Summer Time Part IV -- Pensacola/Pop Pop's Retirement

In July, I packed the boys and we traveled all the way down to Florida to spend a week and a half at MeMe and Pop Pop's House! I must admit, the drive was not fun with an infant and toddler, but we survived and were happy to be there. Pop Pop officially retired (I still can't believe it is actually true) and all four of my brothers and families came to Pensacola to celebrate! Sadly, I didn't have my camera handy for any of the festivities, given that my hands were full with the little ones. My brother, Jim, was the official photographer for the weekend and I hope to see some of those pictures at some point (hint, hint, Robyn!) After everyone left town and we stuck around for a few extra days with my parents, I managed to snap a few shots of my own.

MeMe managed to have a sandbox for all the kids and Noah could not get enough of it!

Best Buds (Cousins Noah & Tyler)

At Pensacola Beach -- we didn't see any tar balls while we were there!

Grandma & Grandpa Feig's 40th Wedding Anniversary

For Grandpa & Grandma Feig's 40th Wedding Anniversary, they wanted nothing more than to spend time with their children and grandchildren. So, we all packed up and headed to Branson, Missouri, for a family vacation. We had a blast! We went hiking, rented a pontoon boat on Tablerock Lake, played tennis, went swimming, cooked out, went shopping at the outlet stores, and just enjoyed hanging out together.

Chilling out with Grandpa....

Noah's first time on a boat! He was a little nervous and sat VERY STILL for most of the ride....

David could barely see over his lifevest....

The whole gang - Grandpa & Grandma Feig, Aunt Sonja, Uncle Michael, Cousins Simon & Kale, Mom, Dad, Noah, & David!

Daddy & David enjoying some one on one time :)

Our family as we now know it!
